Yes, a real inbox. A real person will read it.
what we collect
Only what we actually need.
What we collect depends on how you interact with Rethink.
If you contact us, it can include your name, work email, company, phone number if you choose to give it to us, and whatever you tell us about what’s going on.
If you download a gated report, join the newsletter, register for something or complete another form, we’ll collect the information we ask for there too.
We may also collect information about how people use the website, such as pages visited, device information and where visitors came from. We’ll only use non-essential analytics or tracking where your cookie choices and the law allow us to.
We’re not interested in collecting data for the sake of having it. More data is not automatically better data.
Why we use it
There should always be a reason.
We use personal information for specific things. Not because it might come in handy one day.
| When | What we use your information for | Legal basis |
|---|---|---|
| You contact Rethink | To read your enquiry, respond and work out whether there’s a useful next step. | Our legitimate interests in running the business and, where relevant, taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. |
| You ask for a report or resource | To give you what you asked for and record the request in our systems. | Our legitimate interests in providing and understanding the use of Rethink resources. |
| You opt into marketing | To send the newsletter or other communications you asked to receive. | Consent where required. You can change your mind at any time. |
| You use the website | To operate and secure the site, and understand how people use it where you’ve allowed analytics. | Legitimate interests for essential operation and security. Consent for non-essential cookies and analytics where required. |
Downloading one report doesn’t mean volunteering your inbox for life.
how long we keep it
Long enough to be useful. Not forever.
We don’t keep personal information for longer than we need it.
How long that is depends on why we collected it. Information linked to an active client relationship may need to be kept for business, tax or legal reasons. An enquiry that goes nowhere may be removed much sooner.
We review the information we hold and delete or anonymise it when there is no good reason to keep it.
“Just in case” isn’t a retention policy.
your rights
Your data. Your say.
Data protection law gives you a number of rights over your personal information. Which ones apply can depend on why we’re using the information, but you can always ask.
- Access it. Ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
- Correct it. Tell us if something is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete it. Ask us to erase your information where the law gives you that right.
- Limit it. In some circumstances, you can ask us to restrict how we use your information.
- Object to it. You can object to certain uses of your data. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing.
- Take it with you. In some circumstances, you can ask for information you provided to us in a portable format.
- Change your mind. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time.
Want to know what we hold about you? Ask.
Email privacy@rethinksocial.co.uk. We’ll respond without undue delay and normally within one calendar month.

A couple of final bits
Nearly done. Promise.
Automated decisions
We don’t currently use your personal information to make solely automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you.
