cookies
Cookies.
The website kind.
This page explains the cookies and similar technologies Rethink uses, what they do and the choices you have.
Sadly, none of them contain chocolate.
JUMP TO
what are they
Small bits of technology. Occasionally useful.
Cookies are small pieces of information that websites can store on your device. Similar technologies can do related jobs, such as remembering settings, keeping a website secure or helping understand how it is being used.
The rules also cover things such as scripts, tags, pixels, web storage and other technologies that store information on, or access information from, your device.
Some of these technologies can be used without asking first where a legal exception applies. Others need your permission.
The important bit is that you get a meaningful choice where one is needed.
what we use
Not everything does the same job.
The technologies used on this site fall into a few broad groups. What is actually active may change as the website and the tools behind it change.
Essential technologies
These keep the website working, secure and usable. They can include things needed for basic site functions, security and remembering choices you’ve made.
Analytics
These can tell us how people use the site, such as which pages are visited and where visitors arrive from. We’ll only use non-essential analytics where your choices and the law allow us to.
Embedded services
Some parts of the site use services provided by other companies. For example, Pipedrive powers our enquiry forms and Google reCAPTCHA helps protect them from spam.
Marketing technologies
If we ever use technologies specifically for advertising, remarketing or similar purposes, we’ll explain that and ask for permission where required.
Different jobs. Different rules. Hence all this explaining.
essential technologies
Some things just need to work.
Some technologies are necessary for the website to work properly, stay secure or provide something you’ve asked us to do.
That can include technologies used for security, preventing technical problems and remembering choices such as your cookie preferences.
Where a legal exception applies, we don’t need to ask for permission before using them. We’ll still explain what they are and what they do.
Essential means essential. Not “we quite fancy having it”.
Analytics
Useful numbers. Not a licence to follow you around.
We may use analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, to understand how people use the website.
That can include things like which pages are visited, how people arrived here and how the site performs. We use that information to improve the website and understand what content is useful.
Where analytics technologies require consent, they won’t be used until you’ve made that choice.
We want to know whether the site works. We don’t need to know your every move.
EMBEDDED SERVICES
Sometimes another service does the clever bit.
Some parts of the website rely on services provided by other companies.
For example, Pipedrive powers our enquiry forms and Google reCAPTCHA helps protect those forms from spam and abuse. These services may use cookies or similar technologies when they load or when you interact with them.
Where those technologies need permission, we won’t use them until you’ve made your choice.
What this means for you
Those providers may process information under their own privacy and cookie terms as well as acting as suppliers to Rethink. We’ll identify the relevant services in this policy and our Privacy Policy.
We can outsource the technology. We can’t outsource the responsibility.
YOUR CHOICES
You’re in charge.
When you first visit the website, our cookie controls let you choose which non-essential technologies you’re happy for us to use.
You can accept them, reject them or change your mind later. Rejecting non-essential cookies shouldn’t stop the core website from working.
You can also control cookies and similar technologies through your browser settings, although blocking essential technologies may affect how some parts of the site work.
Changed your mind?
Use the cookie settings link on the website to review or update your choices.
No sulking if you say no.
KEEPING THIS ACCURATE
Cookies change. So will this page.
We scan the website periodically and update this policy when the technologies we use change.
The cookie list above reflects what was detected on the live site at the time of the most recent scan.

And yes, we’ll actually come back and update it.
